Obituary of Nelmesha Shauntrae Hampton

Nelmesha Shauntrae' Hampton was born on November 15, 1986 to Bonnie Hampton and Curtis Baker. She dedicated her life to Christ on September 16, 2001 at New Hope Baptist Church. Nelmesha graduated with honors from John F. Kennedy High School in Richmond, Virginia in 2005. She was creative and artistic and had a passion for sketch art and leaves the family with several pieces of artwork to treasure. Nelmesha was a loving daughter, sister, and mother, who was quiet and soft spoken with a gentle spirit. She loved her children dearly and enjoyed taking trips to the park and pool with them; where they would spend hours playing. Although she was quiet, Nelmesha had a sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. She had her own sense of fashion and acquired a collection of stylish eye glasses and shoes. On Monday, July 29, 2013 Nelmesha departed this life in Cumberland, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lanell Scott and two grandfathers, Deacon Alexander Hampton and Junius "Son" Baker. Nelmesha leaves memories to be cherished by: her three children, ZaeQuan, Ayzia, and Aaniyah Bailey; mother, Bonnie Hampton; father, Curtis Baker (Tina); one brother, Quentin Hampton; one step-brother, Jamal Stanton; three sisters, one devoted, DeVona Hampton, Briana Scott, Sherrece Baker; two step-sisters, Tiffany Scott and India Scott; two nieces, Anaija and Takiyah; one nephew, Devonte Hampton; two grandmothers, Ruth Hampton and Rosa Newsome; great grandmother, Louise Baker; Godmother, Phyllis Bland; six aunts, Lisa Morris, Christine Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Daisey Irene Thomas, Rosa Branch, Tia Newsome; six uncles, Gregory Hampton (Cherri), Calvin Hampton (LaWanda), Jason Hampton, Wilford Baker, Tony Newsome, and Webster Newsome; a host of great uncles, one devoted, Anderson Pervall; a host of great aunts, one devoted, Frances Rose; along with a host of cousins and friends.
