Earl Junior Brown, a son of the late Kenny and Almore Trent Brown was born April 2, 1930 in Cumberland County, Virginia. Earl was reared in a loving home with eight siblings. Six of whom preceded him in death, John, Lonnie, Fancy, Eddie, Ora and Hattie. At an early age Earl was converted, baptized and joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church. On Sundays, Earl could usually be found in some church in the county. He attended the public school in Cumberland County, Virginia. His places of employment included Shelton's Lumber Company of Tappahannock, VA and Palmore's Lumber Company of Powhatan, VA where he was employed for over 55 years, retiring March 2005. Earl was a caring and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He had a positive and happy attitude, and he was always "on the go." He will be greatly missed by his family, community and friends. For the past four years Earl has been in declining health, but never complained. For the past two years he was a resident at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Dillwyn, VA. On Saturday, June 8, 2013, he quietly departed this life at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA. He leaves to cherish his memory four children, Earl Brown "Plum", Kenny Brown "Slick", James Johnson and Phyllis Winn (Henry); ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two brothers; Russell and Carl Brown, three sisters-in-law, Alma, Doris and Comoria Brown; two nephews, ten nieces, a number of great nephews and nieces, an aunt, Ginny Trent; cousins, other relatives and friends. A devoted friend, Annie Mae Brooks and her children.
