Obituary of Ada Lee Langhorne

Ada Lee Langhorne, affectionately called "Mama Ada" was born January 28, 1920 to the late James Davenport and Lelia Evans Davenport of Cumberland County, Virginia.
She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended until her health began to fail. Mama Ada served as a member on the Senior Choir Ministry and the Missionary Ministry.
In 1939 she married William Jefferson Langhorne of Cumberland, Virginia. Five children were born to this union. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and everyone that she encountered.
For many years she worked for Green Thumb as a Caregiver and C-PAC as a Kitchen Server. Mama Ada spent the rest of her life taking care of her family. There wasn't anything that she wouldn't do to help someone.
On March 5, 2013 at Trinity Mission in Farmville, Virginia Mama Ada was called home to eternity. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, and one son, James Jefferson Langhorne.
To cherish her memory Ada leaves three daughters, Corine Langhorne, Alice Trent, Lelia Lilly (Bobby); one son, Douglas Langhorne (Debra); 22 grandchildren, one she raised as her own son, George "Buck" Wheele, III (Elsie); 44 great grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; several devoted friends, Lou Bertha Carter, Eva Langhorne, Georgia Foster, Alma Brown, and Susie Langhorne was like a sister.
