Obituary of Mary Katherine Jones

Mary Katherine Hansboro Jones departed this life on January 27, 2013. She was born in Powhatan County, Virginia on February 21, 1939 to Waverly and Martha Mosby Hansboro. Mary was baptized into the fellowship of the Second Antioch Baptist Church at an early age. She attended the Powhatan County Schools. Mary met and married John T. Jones and from this union three children were born. She and her family remained in Powhatan County; where she was a homemaker. Mary enjoyed her family and had a love for cooking. She was a great cook, that could cook anything but she was well known for her sweet potato pie, homemade biscuits, and potato soup; just to name a few. On January 27, 2013 Mary departed this life in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters and brothers. She is survived by: two sons, Larry Jones (Joyce) and Thomas Jones (Brenda); one daughter, Linda Jones (Robert); two grandsons, Jeremiah Grey and Vincent Henson (Pamela); one granddaughter, Tracy Minor (William); three brothers, Lawrence Hansboro (Mary), Jeff Hansboro (Bertha), and Russell Hansboro; six sisters, Laura Walker, Grace Hansboro, Irene Hansboro, Barbara Goode, Rose Cole and one devoted, Gloria Haskins (Walter, Sr.); one brother-in-law, Francis Porter and a host of nieces, nephews, one devoted, Percy Porter, cousins and friends.
