Obituary of Malik Daniel DaSilva

Malik Daniel DaSaliva was born on March 7, 1981 to Joan DaSilva and Wali Hamzah in Cleveland, Ohio. At an early age Malik and his family moved to Cumberland, VA; where he attended public school. While in school, he played soccer, football, and basketball. After school he went into the workforce, where he worked for various companies. However, his last employment was with Whitehurst Paving Company. In 2002 Malik married his friend and love, Melissa Edwards. He was a happy go lucky guy. He enjoyed music, playing video games, going to the movies every Sunday with his brother, shooting pool, and telling jokes. Malik truly loved his family and friends. Malik leaves fond memories to his devoted and loving wife, Melissa; four children, Mierra ,Makiyah, Raequan and Jaquan; his mother, Joan (Robert); father, Wali (Anita); grandmother, Viola; six brothers, two devoted brothers, Sultan (Juanita) and Jon, Amir, Dawud, Wali, and Mujaheed; seven sisters, Aseelah, Asia, Malika, Suhaylah,Waliyya, Anyana and Ashadea; 2 sisters-in-law, Melody (Preston) and Jessica; one brother-in-law, Sylvester; God sister, Holly Wortham and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friend. Eight devoted friends, Eric Booker, Preston Tyree, Leroy Coles, Douglas Townsend, Robbie Dimmie, Dennis Smith, Willie Kyle, Stephen Booker, and Jason Jones.
