Obituary of Lawrence Johnson

Lawrence Johnson, a son of the late Lawrence Johnson and Louise Marie Wheeler Johnson was born in Buckingham County, VA on April 23, 1941.
He was converted, baptized and joined Little Fork Baptist Church at an early age. Later in life he joined Center Union Baptist Church. Lawrence attended Flat Rock School in Columbia, VA.
Lawrence was married twice and from the first union six children were born; Judy (Michael), Wayne, Charlene, Cynthia (Eric), Sheila and Lawrence, Jr. He later married Brenda Lee Brooks and from this union two children were born; Tina and Angela.
Lawrence resided in Richmond, VA for most of his life. While there he was employed as a Drywall Hanger and later went into construction Work and started his own construction company. After many years he decided to return to Cumberland where he remained until his passing
Lawrence was also affectionately known by many as Junie and Stiffy. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.
On Monday, August 14, 2012 he departed this life at Johnston Willis Hospital, Richmond, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings; Robert, Johnny, Howard, Alonzo and Freddie.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Brenda Brooks Johnson; 2 sons, Wayne Johnson and Lawrence Johnson, Jr.; 6 daughters, Judy Morris (Michael), Charlene Davis, Cynthia Ruffin(Eric), Sheila Johnson, Tina Brooks and Angela Brooks; 18 grandchildren, Quianna, Shakish, Kenyell, Niesha, Tameesha, Wayne, Jr, Jose, Charneice, Kwamane, Brandon, Omari, Alvin, Kiara, Shomari, DaaJee, Nyzaiah, Shakira and Nikayla;12 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Eugene Johnson, Alfonzo Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, and Chris Johnson; 6 sisters, Maize Sheppard, Lenora Walton (Albert), Roberta Harding(Ted), Mary Jane Johnson, Louise Johnson and Nannie Johnson; mother-in-law, Ida Mae Brooks; 3 sisters-in-law, Barbara Bland, Bertha Brooks, and Mary Henderson (Earl); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
