Obituary of Queen Esther Walker

Queen Esther Walker, the only child born to Nathan and Minnie Crump Brown on April 20, 1914 in Powhatan, Virginia.
At an early age, she joined the Mt. Pero Baptist Church where she served on the choir ministry, the deaconess ministry and as mother of the church. She loved her church and served faithfully until her passing.
She attended schools in Powhatan, Virginia. After school, she moved to Long Island, New York, where she worked as a domestic worker.
In the 1960's Queen returned to Virginia where she met and married her beloved husband, York Walker. She continued to work as a domestic worker in Virginia as well.
Queen didn't have any children of her own but cared and loved her cousins as if they were her very own.
She loved her flower garden and her cats. Queen enjoyed cooking and bringing food to her cousins. She was known for making the best pastries.
On Tuesday, April 17, 2012 Queen left all her dear cousins and all the earthly things she lovedto go to her eternal rest.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
She leaves her memories to be cherished by: two devoted cousins, Lenell Owens and Phyllis Crump Majlessi, who was also her care giver; four God daughters, Thelma Oliver, Sheryl Woodson, MichelleTurner, and Tash Robinson; along with a host of other cousins and friends.
