Mr. James Thomas Trent, a son of the late Harvey Junius Trent and Sally Carter Trent was born January 24, 1954, in Cumberland County, Virginia. He was converted, baptized and joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church where his membership remained. He attended the public schools in Cumberland County. James worked for Hazelton Research for numerous years. He also worked in the construction industry until his health failed him two years ago. James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved and cared for his family. In his younger years he loved to hunt and fish; He continued to enjoy fishing. For about two years, he has been in declining health and departed this life on Friday, November 13, 2009 at his home in Cumberland, Virginia. He is survived by his long-time devoted companion, Susan Jackson; five loving children, Katina Jackson, Candace Jackson, Deandra Jackson, Brian Jackson, and Jaime Jackson; six grandchildren, Javonte', Dyani, Lamard, Ashanti, Khamani, and Jaylyan; five siblings, Kathlene Jackson (Robert Jr.), Lee R. Trent, Sallie Lewis (Moses), Jessie J. Trent (Claudette), and Helen Brooks (St. Cassell); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
