Obituary of Pansy Elizabeth Booker

Please share a memory of Pansy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pansy Elizabeth Trent Booker was born on August 21, 1952 to Nancy Mozell Trent and raised along with her many cousins in Cumberland Virginia. She attended Luther P. Jackson and Cumberland County Public Schools. Pansy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized early in life and served faithfully at Reed Baptist Church throughout her life. She was an active member of the missionary ministry, senior choir and kitchen ministry. She sang with the Montague Family Singer for over 30 years, where her favorite songs were "Running for Jesus" and "I Still Got Joy". She was employed with Powhatan County School Systems for a number of years. Pansy was very talented and enjoyed many arts and crafts such as cooking, crocheting and jewelry making. Her "vinegar pie" was a popular dessert on many menus. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and she always talked about how great they sang. Pansy loved her family and friend dearly, always willing to giving a helping hand or a ride. She also loved her favorite color, red! A "Little Lady" always on the go. On Saturday, September 24 she ran on to answer the ultimate call and went peacefully with her Savior as her family sat by her bedside. She fought a good fight and finished her course, she kept the faith. She told the family that after all she had been through she still had joy. She leaves to run-on her loving and devoted daughters, Sherilyn and Ishima Booker, grandchildren Jordan, Jayda, James, Jayden and Jovonte, loving mother Nancy Mozell Trent; aunts Lillian Montague and Iola Bartee; uncles Franklin Trent(Pauline) and Phillip Trent (Beulah); devoted cousins she affectionately called her "sisters" Gena Montague, Nannie Wilson (Leo), Joyce Nyhaug (David), Linda Dunk and Sylvia Holcomb (Chris), devoted cousins and close as "brothers" Horace Montague (Patricia) and Joe Faggins, a host of other cousins, friends and family, and best friend Audrey Frenzley.
