Obituary of Cora Louise Childress

Cora Louise Childress, was born March 5, 1942 in Cumberland County, Virginia to Mary Lue Eggleston Dean and Johnnie Willie Dean. She relocated to Riverhead Long Island where she attended Riverhead School System. Later, she married William Childress on July 18, 1962 and had 49 years of a blessed marriage. She gave birth to four children; Wesley Dean, Roberta Childress, Johnathan Childress, and James Childress. Cora was employed as a domestic worker. She departed this life on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia. Cora is survived by her husband, William Childress; her children, Wesley Dean (Kavonda), Roberta Childress (Jeffrey), James Childress (Angela); 12 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Vannessa Cooper and Evelyn Hughes (Claven); three brothers, Jimmy Dean, Johnnie "Billy" Dean (Janie), and Clarence Dean; 2 sisters-in-law, Margaret Brown and Betty Langhorne (Tom); 2 brothers-in-law, Jessie Walker (Louise) and Lawrence Childress; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
