Obituary of Veronica Johnson

Please share a memory of Veronica to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Veronica Johnson was born on November 08, 1964, to Johnnie Johnson Sr., and Ruth Ganell Mosby Johnson in New York, NY. She grew up in Cartersville, Virginia where she was reared in the Apostolic church. Veronica would often stand during testimony service and give praise and glory to God through her sign language. Veronica attended the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Stanton, VA and graduated with her high school diploma. After graduating high school, she moved to Richmond VA, and lived with her brother Jerry. Veronica continued her studies at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and graduated successfully. Veronica worked various jobs including Red Lobster on Midlothian Turnpike and James Center Athletic Gym, Richmond, Virginia. Veronica, lovingly known as "Roni", was very outgoing and she loved helping and caring for other people. She also loved to be the "Boss of everybody," and she didn't mind telling you what to do. Veronica loved traveling and riding out to any destination. She often went riding out with her mom with Jeanette Miller at the wheel. She loved going on the family girl trips with her mom, sister, sister-in-law, and her devoted cousin Nikki who stuck! by the family still to this day. Veronica loved sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan! She would often go toe to toe with her brothers in support of her favorite team during football and basketball season. In her spare time, she loved doing puzzle books, arts and crafts, shopping at the thrift store, cooking, and eating breakfast or dinner with her dad. But most of all, Veronica loved spending time with God. She made sure she stayed in her bible. She studied the word of God and read her bible daily, highlighting different passages of scriptures and often shared a word of blessing to whoever needed encouragement. She was preceded in death by: mother, Ruth Mosby Johnson and brother, Jeffrey Johnson. On Saturday, January 6, 2024, Veronica went home to be with the Lord. If you went to visit Veronica, she would often tell you: You go rest! Lay down and God will Bless you. Well, today, Veronica, we say to you: Go rest, God Bless you. We love you always! She leaves to cherish fond memories: father, Johnnie Lee Johnson Sr.; three brothers, Johnnie Johnson, Jr.; (Barbara), Jerry Johnson (Patsy), James Johnson; one sister, Vanessa Johnson; niece, Stacey Smith; grandniece, Adriana; nephew, Derek Jackson; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. In Loving Memory of Our Wonderful Sister Of all the special gifts in life however great or small, to have you as our Sister was the greatest gift of all. May the winds of love blow softly and whisper in your ear "We love and miss you Sister and wish that you were here" Deep in our hearts, your life is kept to love and cherish, not forget. No more tomorrows we can share but yesterdays are always there. A silent though, a secret tear keeps your memory ever near in our hearts forever. Acknowledgements The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have expressed their sympathies through prayers, cards, texts, phone calls or just stopping by during our time of bereavement. May God bless you and His love be yours to share.
