Obituary
Nora H. Booker, a daughter of the Late Reverend Burley Cleveland Booker and Mattie Hatcher Booker was born in Cumberland County, VA on July 21, 1927.
Nora attended the publics schools in Buckingham County. At an early age, she was converted, baptized and joined the Petersville Baptist Church where her membership remained.
Nora was preceded in death by her siblings: three brothers, Herbert J. Booker, Arthur P. Booker, Rev. Norman M. Booker, Sr., and six sisters, Mamie Booker, Ora Booker, Lydia Ann Trent, Chester Lee Booker, Endia Mae Fleming and Annie Booker.
Nora was a resident of the Petersville Community her entire life. She was a devoted caregiver for her parents for over 70 years. Her life was quiet and private, but she remained in God's care throughout her journey.
As her health began to decline, it became necessary for her to reside at the Trinity Nursing Home, now the Farmville Health and Rehabilitation Center. On Sunday, January 18, 2026, Nora departed, this life at the Rehabilitation Center.
Knowing Nora has now gained eternal rest, she leaves to cherish her memories, a nephew, David E. Fleming (Lula), nieces, and nephews, a host of cousins and friends; a devoted friend, Ethel Scruggs.
God saw the road was getting rough
The hills were hard to climb.
He gently closed Nora's eyes
And whispered, "Peace be thine!"
Her weary house, her days of pain
Her weary nights are past
Her ever-patient worn out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
