Beulah Virginia Woodson Obituary

Obituary

Beulah Virginia Woodson was born on December 23, 1941, in Cumberland, Virginia, to Myrtle Hatcher Jackson and Ernest Lee Jackson. From her earliest years, Beulah was known for her gentle nature, strong work ethic, and quiet determination—qualities that would shape her life and the lives of those who loved her.

Raised in a close-knit family, Beulah learned the values of compassion, service, and perseverance. T hese values guided her throughout her journey and became the foundation of the home she later built. She married her beloved husband, Lucious Woodson Sr., and together they created a life centered on family, faith, and resilience. Their union was blessed with seven children, and Beulah devoted herself wholeheartedly to nurturing, supporting, and guiding them.

As a mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Beulah was the steady presence her family relied upon. Her home was a place of warmth, safety, and unconditional love. She had quiet wisdom that spoke louder than any words, and a nurturing spirit that extended far beyond her immediate family. Many who visited her home found comfort, encouragement, and a listening ear.

Beulah's life was also marked by deep compassion. She carried herself with grace and humility, and her ability to pour love into others left a lasting imprint on everyone she encountered. Her grandchildren—sixteen in total—were her pride and joy, and she embraced each generation with the same deep affection, welcoming twenty-nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren into her growing legacy.

She faced loss with courage, having been preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lucious; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Ernest Jackson; and her sister, Mary Trent. Yet even in grief, her faith remained strong, and she continued to serve as a source of strength for those around her.

Beulah leaves behind her seven children—Lucious Woodson Jr., Brenda Moore (Angelo), Cynthia Woodson, Daphne Evans (Kevin), Wayne Woodson Sr., Cheryl Woodson(Louis) , and Bruce Woodson—along with her 16 grandchildren: Charla, Kenneth, Javonda, Brandon, LaCat Hughes (Joshua), Angela, Shavon, Branden(Donte), Jermon, Olivia, Wayne Jr., Tatyana, TreyVon, DaVonte, Antione, and Brycen, 29 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, Her close knit siblings Mattie Hatcher, Helena Jackson, James (Everlyn), Ervin (Cynthia), and MacArthur Jackson; and one brother-in-law, Robert Trent, devoted friends Sandra Carter, Louise Chapman, Cornelius Thomas, Barbara Hall and a host of devoted nieces, devoted nephews and devoted extended family who loved her dearly.

Throughout her 83 years, Beulah's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering devotion. She lived not for recognition, but for the joy of caring for others. Her legacy lives in the hearts of her family and in the many lives she touched. Her memory will continue to shine as a reminder of the power of kindness, the strength of faith, and the beauty of a life well lived.

"A Life Remembered"

A life so full, a heart so true, A gentle soul in all you'd do.

You gave us love without reserve, A guiding light, a steady nerve.

From early days in Cumberland's skies, To the home you built with loving eyes,

You showed us how to walk with grace, to meet the world with a smiling face.

A devoted wife, a mother dear, A friend to many who held you near.

Through joy and sorrow, laughter, and tears, you shared your heart across the years.

You nurtured children with tender hands and shaped their lives with thoughtful plans.

Seven children blessed by your care, sixteen grandchildren who'll always share

The lessons you taught, the love you gave, the warmth and courage to be brave.

Twenty-nine great-grandchildren feel Your spirit guiding in all that's real.

And three great-great-grandchildren too, who carry the legacy of you.

Your kindness stretched beyond the home, to nieces, nephews, and friends who'd roam

Into your circle and found a place of comfort, love, and endless grace.

Through all the trials, the highs, the lows, your faith, your strength, your courage shows.

You gave without pause, you loved without end, A lifetime of gifts only you could send. T hough Heaven now has called you above, you leave with us a legacy of love. Your memory lives in every heart, A part of us that will never part. We'll see your smile in morning light, hear your laughter in the quiet night. In every hug, in every song, your love surrounds us, ever strong. A life remembered, a soul so bright, you filled our world with endless light. T hough we grieve, our hearts rejoice, forever blessed by your loving voice. Rest now, dear mother, your work is done, Your life a beacon, your race well-run. We carry your love in all we do, Forever honored, forever true.

Love your Children
