Willie Stewart Allen, Sr. was born on October 1, 1936, in Cumberland, Virginia, to William Landus Allen and Mozell Brown Allen. At a n early age, he was baptized and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Cumberland. On December 24, 1957, Willie married the love of his life, Luerine E. Langhorne. The couple moved to Riverhead, New York, where they made their home and raised a family of two children.
Upon r e l o c at i ng, Willie joined First Baptist Church of Riverhead, where he f a i t h f u l ly served as an Usher for many years. Willie was employed at Riverhead Junior High School for more than 40 years. He was recognized for his dedication and commitment when he received the Perfect Attendance Award, never missing a single day during his entire career. After retirement, Willie and Luerine returned t o Virginia in 1998. They joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church, where Willi e became a member of the Male Chorus. He found great joy in singing and fellowshipping with the “guys.”
Willie enjoyed life and the simple pleasures it brought. He loved watching soap operas and game shows, talking on the phone with family and friends, and cooking and eating foods he knew he shouldn’t. His warm spirit, humor, and love for people touched the lives of everyone around him.
On September 25, 2025, Willie entered into eternal rest at his home in North Chesterfield, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Luerine, two sisters, Mary Lassiter and Delphine Trent, and two brothers, John and Frank Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Willie, Jr. (Kim), Caesar ( Jasmine), Roberto, and Crystal; his grandchildren, Shonda, Kiara “ Cookie” (Misael), Shanice, Kyla “Lil Bit”, Amaya, Sara, Anastasia, Jasmine, Caesar Jr., Jordan, Joel, Elijah, Jaxson, and Julian; his great g r andchildren, Nuriyah, Isiah, and Sebastian; and a special loved one, Aidan Frasier, whom he thought of as a grandson. He is also survived by his goddaughters, Rosa Palmore (Anthony) and Keisha Dean ( Jimmy); his brothers, Robert (Tressie) and Harrison; his sisters, Lucy Brown (Elmo) and Frances Scruggs (James); his sisters-in-law, Rose T. Langhorne and Betty Langhorne; his devoted nieces, Angela Allen Haule and Yvonne Brown; his devoted nephews, Greg Langhorne and James Scruggs, Jr.; his devoted cousins, Joseph C. Allen, Sr. and Edward Brown; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Willie will be remembered for his devotion to family, his faithful service to his church, his dedication to his work, and his love for life. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
