Jeane Wheat was born to Annie & Eugene Coleman on June 11, 1963 in Cartersville, Virginia. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Paul Evans. She completed her education at Cumberland County High School in Cumberland Virginia. After school, she began her career in customer service which she worked in for over 38 years. Working in customer service, awarded her the opportunity to live and travel across the country. She went from Richmond VA, to Los Angeles CA, to Chicago IL, to finally settling in Atlanta GA. At the time of her passing, she was an Insurance Specialist at Delta Dental Insurance. Jeane was special to many people in so many ways. She was always the protector to her younger cousins and pushed her children to be independent. Although she was the third from the youngest of eight children, she was always taking charge of her siblings' affairs. Whether it was making reservations or helping with taxes, Jeane's willingness to assist was endless. Jeane loved gatherings with family and friends. She was an avid reader, a great card player, very outspoken and loved to travel. At the time of her passing she was a member of Pleasant Hill Church in Roswell, GA and was also a Deaconess of the church. Jeane was preceded in death by her Father Eugene Arthur Coleman. Jeane leaves to cherish her memory her devoted and loving husband Bruce Wheat, the love of her life for 38 years and their combined family of four children: Ja'Lyan Firstley (Joshua), Nicole Wheat, Lamar Wheat, and Jayden Wheat, her godson Patrick Scott and her three grandchildren Nalah Kelly, Jaxson and Jaycob Firstley. She is also survived by six brothers and one sister, Vonceil Williams (Michael), Pernell Coleman (Elsie), Dale Coleman (Tina), Arthur Fountain (Vickie), Chris Silas (Jo), Robert McClendan (Janice) and John Coleman and her loving and supportive mother Annie Coleman. Also, a host of extended family and friends.
