Shamario Dean Scruggs was born on September 26, 1992 in Farmville, Virginia to Daniel Lester Scruggs and Rosena Elizabeth Scruggs. Shamario was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he was converted and baptized. He was a graduate of the Cumberland County Public School. He played football for the Cumberland Dukes. Shamario was employed at Fork Union Military Academy and Powhatan Public School until his decline in health. Shamario a.k.a "Mari" to his family and "Fly Boi" to his friends. He enjoyed shopping, playing Madden, family gatherings, being with his friends playing basketball and his favorite football team was the New Orleans Saints. He was full of life, love and laughter. Shamario gained his wings on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Deacon Junius Childress, Sr.; grandmother, Kate Lee Childress; uncle Kevin "Bo" Childress and four great-uncles. Mari held a special place in his heart for his nephews, Ashad and Ashton and his Godchildren, Edward "Juju" and Londyn. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his parents, Daniel and Rosena Scruggs; two sisters, Danielle Scruggs and Di-erra Scruggs; grandmother, Gracie Childress; seven aunts, Michelle Richardson (Rev. John), LaWanda Hampton (Calvin), Bernice Dabney (Ernest), Elaine Dabney, Judy Scruggs, Belinda Holman (Christopher) and Wanda Childress; five uncles, Junius Childress, Jr., Rodney Childress (Melinda), Steve Childress, Lacy Childress and Michael Childress; two nephews, Ashad Trent and Ashton Trent; two Godchildren, Londyn Terry and Edward Boatwright, Jr.; numerous cousins, six devoted, Antwan Davenport, Christopher Foster, Tray Reed, Juwan Childress, Tamara Allen and Travon Brown; other relatives and friends; six devoted, Edward Boatwright, Craig Anderson, Antonio Richardson, Va-Saun Boatwright, Brian Jackson and Keon Smith.
