Obituary of Helen T. Morris

Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Obituary During the early morning of August 16, 2017, God whispered to Helen Taylor Morris that her battle was over and the victory had been won. Our dearly beloved mother and grandmother departed this life at The Laurels at Willow Creek Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Kate Taylor of Powhatan County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Harding Morris; son, Rayfield O. Morris; two sisters; and six brothers. Helen was born on April 15, 1932. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board Ministry. Aside from her service in church, she enjoyed her family, flowers, and soap operas. Helen also had a passion for cooking and serving others. She was often known as having a quiet demeanor but spoke with such powerful words and wisdom that she drew others to her. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children, Anne Morris-Anderson (Rodney) of North Chesterfield, Virginia, Burnett D. Morris (Sandra) of Hampton, Virginia, and Earl E. Morris (Sharon) of Midlothian, Virginia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Elton Morris of Farmville, Virginia; a devoted friend, Juanita J. Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
