Obituary of Tyauna Da-bria Woodson

Please share a memory of Tyauna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tyauna Da-Bria Woodson, affectionately known as "Chunky", was born on July 5, 2002 to BreAnne Woodson and David Baker. In 2015, she accepted Christ, was baptized, and became a member of the Petersville Baptist Church in New Canton, VA. As a member, Chunky was a part of the Youth of Praise, the Vessels of Praise, and the Debutante ministries. She also helped out with the outreach ministry, Woman at the Well, where she assisted with handing out meals to the homeless at the Daily Bread in Lynchburg, VA on several occasions. Chunky was a student at the Cumberland County High School. During her years as a student, she made many academic achievements. In elementary school, she became a part of the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program and attended the TAG summer enrichment program for several years at Longwood University. In middle school, she became a part of the National Junior Honor Society. And, last summer she attended and completed the CyberCamp program offered by the school. Chunky also participated in extracurricular activities and was a part of the JV cheering squad for the JV basketball team in middle school and joined the JV softball team this spring. She was also a member of Girl Scout Troop #660 and participated in softball and cheering through the Cumberland Recreation department. And, she received her black belt in karate in April 2011. During her short time here on earth, Chunky made such a huge impact on any and every one that she came in to contact with. She had such a sweet demeanor, but she could also be fierce and feisty at the same time. And, when you stared into those beautiful eyes it was so hard not to fall in love with her. To know her was to love her. Chunky had a love for fashion and jewelry and an obsession with sneakers. She had her own unique style, one like no other. She also loved doing hair and was always looking for creative ways to style her hair. She loved pets and always wanted a dog, but settled for a brother when her baby brother Bren was born whom she loved and adored. She loved spending time with her family and hanging out with her friends. On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, Chunky received her wings along with her big sister, Michaela, and they flew home to be with our Lord. She was preceded by her grandfather, Guy C. Crenshaw and her uncle, Demetric O. Woodson. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted mother, BreAnne Woodson and stepfather, Darrell Trent; her father, David Baker and stepmother, Lalita Baker; devoted grandmother, Ethel Woodson; grandparents, Linda and Lewis Langhorne and St. Cassell and Helen Brooks; five brothers, Marquese, Daquarius, Timothy Jr., Christian, and Bren; three sisters, Chelsea, Camren, and Daryn; four uncles, Quincy, Shawn (Tasha), Harvey (Renee), and Eric; four aunts, Vernita, Jerrine, Sharquita, and Janine; one great-uncle, Artie (Carmenlita); five great-aunts Cathy, Melissa, Vercal, Vanessa, and Dionne (Tobias); one god-sister, London, one god-brother, Josiah; devoted cousins, Rodriguez, Domonta, Daelyn, Christian, Paris, and Helena; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, and her two best friends, Sade' and Logan, and one special, friend Aaron.
