John "Cooper" Brown quietly surrendered himself to God's loving arms on Monday, July 25, 2016. He was born on December 20, 1928 in Powhatan County, Virginia to Joseph and Mary Robinson Brown. John accepted Christ and joined Little Zion Baptist Church where he attended and supported his church until his health failed. He was a man of few words; very quiet and caring. John was employed by and retired from the University of Richmond. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille Brown; stepson, Herbert and stepdaughters, Barbara, Helen and Cynthia. Cooper left to share precious memories of his life; his sister, Kathleen Brown of Texas; two stepsons, Randall Brown (Helen) and Michael Brown; stepdaughters, Priscilla Wilkerson (Roland), Brenda Cosby (Jerry), Rhonda Patterson (Charles), and Charlotte Jackson (James); eighteen grandchildren, two devoted, Corey and Deidra Richardson; eight great- grandchildren; three sons-in-law, Ernest Jackson, Doff Edward, and Darrell Mitchell; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Trent (Franklin) and Sallie Sanderson; brothers-in-law, Jacob and Glenn Hill along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
