William H. Jackson, son of the late Charlie and Virgie Miles Jackson was born November 24, 1938 in Powhatan, Virginia. He was one of twenty - one children. At an early age he was baptized at Mt. Pero Baptist Church, Powhatan, Virginia. He remained a faithful member until his health began to fail. He became a Deacon at Mt. Pero Baptist Church and served for 37 years and also served as the chairman of the Deacon Board for 22 years. William retired from Virginia Folding Box Company in 1977. He was co-owner of the Powhatan and Hadensville Woodyard with Deacon Robert B Jackson who is also a devoted friend. During his retirement he worked for Powhatan Goochland Community Action Agency. On Sunday, February 28, 2016 he went to be with the Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his son, William H. Jackson, Jr. (Nute) and several siblings. He leaves to cherish his memories; two daughters, Linda Spears (Ronald) and Gwendolyn Fleming (Jerome); four grandchildren, Ronald Spears, III (Whitney), Terrell Fleming (Rebekah), Ashley Agnes (John) Terrance Fleming (Chantel) and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Jackson (Diane) and Arthur Jackson; four sisters, Lenell Smith, Ida Jackson, Maude Britt and Mahalia Turner; one sister-in-law, Rosa Jackson and one brother-in-law, Henry Taylor along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; two devoted cousins, Alease Phillips and James Miles and many friends; four devoted friends, Irvin Clarke, Jimmy Edwards, Peyton Hughes and Leroy "Eddie" Mines.
