Shirley Marie Mayberry was born on December 8, 1937 in Scott County, Virginia. She was one of seven children born to Greer and Elizabeth Rhoden Compton. Shirley attended schools in Chesterfield, Virginia. On February 23, 1954 she married Calvin N. Mayberry, Sr. and from this union two sons were born. Shirley turned her life over to the Lord at a young age and spent many years assisting her husband with his ministry. One of her passions was helping children at summer bible camps at Pocahontas Park in Chesterfield, Virginia. Shirley also loved to fish and enjoyed riding Charted Fishing boats on the Rappahannock River. On Wednesday, February 3, 2016 Shirley went to be with her Lord and Savior. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Calvin N. Mayberry, Sr.; two sons, Calvin N. Mayberry, Jr. (Rita) and Terry Wayne Mayberry (Peggy); five grandchildren, Shawn Mayberry (Holly), Nicole Mayberry, Jarrett Mayberry, Rebecca Mayberry, and Josh Mayberry; 3 great grandchildren, Madison Mayberry, Jackson Mayberry and Rustin Wayne Mayberry; three brothers, Orville Compton (Gloria), Ray Compton and Clifford Compton; a sister, Beulah Baughan (Cecil) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
