Obituary of John Milton Richardson

John Milton Richardson was born on September 1, 1949 in Cumberland, Virginia to the late James and Lois Richardson. At an early age he was converted, baptized and joined New Hope Baptist Church. John attended Luther P. Jackson High School, where he was a commendable baseball player. He was an excellent provider and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. John worked at the University of Richmond for 43 years as an electrician. He was a devoted and faithful employee, and whatever he did, he took pride in it. On Tuesday, October 11, 2014, he departed this life peacefully at home surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and a brother, James Richardson. He leaves to cherish fond memories with his loving wife of 48 years, Roberta Richardson; two sons: John Jr. (Michelle) and William; two daughters: Jackie (Wayne) and Lois; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Richardson; aunt, Annie Johnson; uncle, Henry Deane; father-in-law, Harris Brown; two brothers-in-law, Clyde (Annie) Minter and George Crump; sister-in-law, Iris Minter; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
