John Beryl Donegain went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at home. He was the son of the late Beryl and Lovie Donegain. John was born in Amherst County, VA on December 2, 1927. Later in life he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized and joined Greenbrier Baptist Church in Powhatan County, VA. On sunny days John enjoyed fishing, working his garden, and loved to show off his watermelons and cantaloupes. His overall passion was watching John Wayne and Bonanza Westerns. He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Morris, four brothers; Sampson Brown, Kinkle Brown, Howard Donikin, and Wilson Donikin. He leaves to cherish his fond memories, two sisters, Rena Hull Washington, DC, Daisy Hampton, Richmond, VA; two brothers, James Donikens and Lloyd Brown of Powhatan, VA; two uncles, Willie Taliaferro and Forest Taliaferro of Washington, DC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Two devoted nieces, Lucille Morris and Helen Swann; two devoted nephews, Lester Morris and Delwood Morris; a devoted friend, Rickey Giles; two faithful caregivers, Ann Sweeney and Emma Creed.
