Obituary of Clara Trent Jones

Clara A. Jones, a daughter of Mary Lisse Crump Trent and Walter J. Trent was born January 24, 1936 in Cumberland County, Virginia. At an early age she was converted, baptized and joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church. She attended Cedar Fork School. After school she was employed at Cumberland Restaurant as a cook. In 1967 she was married to Robert Lee Jones. Clara was a devoted mother who cared for her family. Clara was a very outgoing and loving person who enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. For a number of years she has been in declining health and departed this life on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Dorothy, Mandy, Lucy Mae and Amell; one brother, Waverly. She leaves to cherish fond memories, two daughters, Betty and Mary Jones; one son, Thomas Jones(Zenna); six grandchildren, Thomas Jones, Jr., Antonio Jones, Jordan Jones, JaMichael Jones, Jayvon Faison and one special granddaughter, Whitney Faison; one great grandchild, Ty'Mier Jones; four sisters, Eva Langhorne of Cumberland, Marion Phelps (Charles) of New York, Ada Langhorne and Shirley Lee of Cumberland; a brother, Albert Trent (Jean) of Cumberland; a mother-in-law, Mary Frances Jones; one aunt, Gladys Crump of Richmond; four sisters-in-law, Annie Hargrove, Rena Murray, Bibb Trent, and Barbara Richardson; six brothers-in-law, William, Jimmy, Jessie, Gene, Melvin and Ralph; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, one devoted Nash Booker.
